NATURAL VAPORUB for cough, cold, sinus and congestion

Vapor rub is the first thing that comes handy if your kid or you feel congested. Did you know what all is present in that tub of vaporub lying on your table? How about making your very own, super-effective and all-natural vaporub? Below is a recipe-



  • Essential oils open up sinuses and relieve congestion overnight.
  • Contains skin beneficial ingredients.
  • Helps in penetration and evaporation of essential oils that work both ways.
  • Use it on your feet to make it baby soft.
  • Treat cough and cold.
  • Acts as a insect repellent.

Things you need-

  • 1/2 cup coconut oil or almond oil
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax
  • 5 drops eucalyptus oil
  • 5 drops peppermint oil
  • 5 drops rosemary oil


In a double boiler-friendly vessel or microwavable bowl, add coconut oil or almond oil and add in beeswax.Melt it and let it cool down for a minute or so.

Add in essential oils and stir. Pour immediately in an easy-to-use jar and let it set.


To use –

Rough feet – Treat rough feet and heels with vaporub. Before going to bed, apply a thick amount of this vapor under the feet and cover your feet with cotton socks.
Repel Mosquito – Just apply small dabs of vaporub to your skin and clothes, the smell of the menthol in it will repel the mosquitoes.
Toe nail fungus – Take a small amount of vaporub and rub it on top of the infected finger. 
For night cough – Apply liberally under the feet and then use thick socks before you sleep, to stop coughing at night.
Headache – Apply a thin layer under your nose and allow it to sit for some time. Breathe deeply so that the medicated vapors get inhaled and this way your headache will vanish.
