According to health organizations, one of the effective methods to prevent viruses and germs from spreading is by washing your hands thoroughly. Now the need of an hour is to keep our hands clean and clear from all germs and viruses. But recently, it has been observed, that the stores and pharmacies are running out of hand sanitizers and right now it is not easy to find a disinfecting product in your nearest pharmacy or general store.
Keeping this in mind, we have decided to write an article on how to make a home-made hand sanitizer by using running alcohol. But please keep in mind that, while making this homemade hand sanitizer please make sure that there is at least 60% of alcohol content in it.
HOW DO THESE INGREDIENTS WORK?
RUBBING ALCOHOL – The main ingredient we are using in this DIY hand sanitizer is a rubbing alcohol (which will comprise 60% of our total product) to make this an effective disinfectant. We would suggest you to not use any other type of alcohol as they might be toxic.
ALO VERA GEL – Aloe vera gel prevents your skin from drying out as it is a moisturizer. It is also known to contain agents which will helps to inhibit bacteria and viruses. It also helps to ease irritation of skin and itching inflammation. It is useful to protect your hands from drying effects of alcohol.
TREE TEA OIL – It’s no secret that Tea tree oil is well known to kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory.
The main ingredients which we are using to make this homemade disinfectant are as follows:
- 2/3 cup of Rubbing Alcohol
- 1/3 cup of Aloe-vera gel
- 8 to 10 drops of Tree tea oil
- A funnel and a spray bottle to store the same
HOW TO PREPARE A DIY HAND SANITIZER?
Mix running alcohol, aloe vera gel mixes the same thoroughly until you get a gel-like texture. Add 8 to 10 drops of tree tea oil and mix the same using a spoon. Pour the above mixture into a spray bottle using a funnel and close the same.
That’s it, your home-made hand sanitizer is ready to use. Keep this hand sanitizer in your pocket and use the same at regular intervals.
Other things which you need to do to prevent germs from spreading?
Apart from washing your hands regularly, please avoid touching your face, mouth, eyes and nose and avoid close contact with anyone who is sick. Remember “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”
This hand sanitizer has not been lab-tested. The main ingredient in this hand sanitizer is alcohol. It is based on the principle of using 60% alcohol hand sanitizer killing germs like the flu, etc. Please wash your hands with soap and clean water thoroughly and don’t substitute it with hand sanitizer. Use hand sanitizer when you are unable to wash your hands regularly using soap and water.
