Bug repellent gels, creams and sprays are easily available in the market yet most of us stay away from it because it contains a lot of unwanted ingredients too! Bug repellents that you get commercially are definitely insect and bug deterrents but they often have ingredients that aren’t skin friendly. If you are in a lookout for a safer bug repellent, here we are with an all-natural recipe for Bug Repellent Gel-
Aloe vera gel- Commercial aloe vera gel makes a good gel base and contains emulsifiers. It has moisturizing and hydrating properties and does not leave behind any residue.
Peppermint, lemongrass and lavender essential oils- These essential oils have great bug and insect repellent properties.
RECIPE FOR DIY BUG REPELLENT GEL-
Things you need-
- 2 tablespoons aloe vera gel (or more depending on the quantity of final product you want)
- 5 drops peppermint oil
- 5 drops lemongrass oil
- 5 drops lavender oil
In a mixing bowl, add ale vera gel.
Add in all the essential oils and mix until the gel gets turbid and everything looks well-emulsified.
Store the gel in an easy-to-use container.
Rub it onto your skin until everything is well absorbed.
